art from plastic in the sea

Making art from plastic debris in our seas and oceans is a common theme among various artists today. There is plenty of source material to work with, after all. Two such artists are Fran Crowe and Hannah Scott -


I appreciate the way they are both using art to get a message across. The beauty and intrigue of the visual pieces invites and inspires the viewer to find out more about them. This provides a more subtle way for the viewer to get the message about the problem of plastic debris in our seas and oceans than the typical campaign leaflet beginning with: ‘Did you know…?’
